Hong Kong Flower Show 2025 at Victoria Park featured an impressive display of entry from the Botanical Garden (West Lake Landscape Research Institute) of Hangzhou. They are sponsored by the city’s Bureau of Gardens and Cultural Relics and West Lake Scenic Area Committee. The entry, titled “Qiantang’s Family,” won a grand award for flower design and a gold medal for entries.

It draws inspiration from the lifestyle back to the Song Dynasty, also with a tribute to modern architecture. The entry skillfully incorporates elements such as flagstones and bamboo fences, creating a secluded paradise reminiscent of ancient times. Visitors can take a stroll on the path - as the aged wooden doors are pushed open, a life of hermit in the Southern Song’s city appears. Medicinal plants like mint and Fritillary are also found at the “Herbal Garden” in the north. The display of such a well balanced landscape of flowers and herbal plants offers people a prefect blend of greenery and herbal fragrance.
