Zhejiang Normal University’s Affiliated Dinghui Experimental Primary School has recently inaugurated a new addition to its educational facilities: the Mycological Biodiversity Science Museum. This new space features hundreds of fungal specimens and high-definition ecological images, offering students an immersive learning environment. Additionally, inside the “Mushroom House”, students will have the chance to engage in mushroom cultivation and observe the fascinating growth of mycelium, which helps transform the abstract knowledge into tangible and perceivable life experience.
The school has an educational philosophy that emphasizes “Life, Ecology, and Growth.” It built several science education venues, including the Smart Ecology Hall, the Life Growth Hall, the Life Experience Hall, and the Science Dynamics Hall, alongside a biodiversity experience site. These facilities, as an additional contribution to the school’s natural education, offer a range of hands-on activities that foster scientific thinking and biodiversity awareness. The initiative is also a drive for students to stay close to science and nature.
