On 23 April, after expedited clearance by Qianjiang Customs in Jiande, a shipment of fish heads from Hangzhou Qiandao Lake Development Group Co., Ltd. departed for Singapore, signaling the entry of the famous Qiandao Lake fish head into the global market.

Qiandao Lake, a world-renowned man-made reservoir in Zhejiang Province, is famed for its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery. Among its local specialties, the Qiandao Lake fish head enjoys widespread popularity across China. “To ensure the successful shipment of our products, Qianjiang Customs provided us with comprehensive support throughout the export process,” said Wang Jinpeng, General Manager of the Food Branch at Hangzhou Qiandao Lake Development Group. “We are confident in our ability to further expand our export business and are exploring new markets, including Malaysia and Indonesia, in pursuit of new opportunities.”

As part of its commitment to rural revitalization and common prosperity in local counties, Qianjiang Customs is supporting the international expansion of local specialties, including Qiandao Lake fish head. They provide tailored assistance throughout the supply chain, from stationing expert teams at breeding bases to ensure fish safety to helping companies meet national and international standards. Furthermore, a dedicated “green channel” has been established to expedites inspection and clearance of these exported products.

In recent years, many of Hangzhou’s local specialties have gained international recognition and become increasingly popular among overseas consumers. For example, if you’re flying with Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific, or Singapore Airlines, chances are the caviar served onboard comes from Qiandao Lake in Chun’an County, Hangzhou. The world’s largest caviar producer, Hangzhou Qiandaohu Xunlong Sci-Tech Co., Ltd., known globally through its brand Kaluga Queen, accounts for nearly 35% of global caviar production and exports caviar to 46 countries and regions.

Hangzhou Mingbo Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. has successfully expanded its reach both domestically and internationally by offering innovative tea products like matcha powder and reduced-sugar instant tea. The company has become a key supplier to leading domestic tea brands and is now gaining traction in global markets. In the first quarter of this year, its exports of matcha powder and other products surpassed 30 million yuan, reflecting a 43% year-on-year growth.

“We are committed to supporting the export of our local specialties by providing targeted assistance to companies,” stated Zhang Yong, Director of the Jiande Office of Qianjiang Customs. “Our goal is to bring authentic Chinese flavors to tables around the world and further boost rural revitalization.”
