An urge for outings arises as the sunshine comes back. So why not an equestrian competition at Tonglu? The 2025 Yangtze River Delta Equestrian League (Tonglu), a high-profile sporting event just on the horizon, brings together top riders to promise a thrilling horse race.
As the first equestrian event hosted in Tonglu in 2025, this is also the largest competition the venue ever hosted since established. Over 700 rider-horse combinations will be participating in the event, with an estimated 380 horses taking part.
The competition features Jumping Events, which is further divided into Junior Individual, Open Individual, and Team Events. They include 80cm Single-Sided Time-Touch Scoring, 1.00m Special Two-Phase Competition, 1.10m Speed Competition, 1.20m Speed Competition, 1.30m Speed Competition with Immediate Jump-Off, and 1.40m Grand Prix.
This event will see top riders from across China, including Olympic and Asian Games participants - like Li Zhenqiang, the first Chinese athlete to compete in the Olympic equestrian jumping event. Star horse riders, such as Liang Ruiji and Bao Yingfeng, gold medalists at the 19th Asian Games right here, will step on the stage again. They will be competing for the championship and a prize of 600,000 yuan.
How to get tickets? A special policy is offered in sync with the sports lottery. You will have free admission to one-day equestrian events with a computer-generated sports lottery ticket purchased on the same day, in at least five bets (it costs 10 yuan). Please note that tickets are only valid for the day of purchase. Temporary lottery counters will also be available at the competition venue.
You’ll even have fun outside. As the popular “Tonglehui” Market is kicking off, you can try local delicacies, pick up county specialties, and get up close to the unique charm of intangible heritage crafts. This is a joy way beyond simply horses and riders!
There’s also plenty of fun for families. The venue also provides non-powered amenities such as swings, trampolines, rocking horses, and slides.
But remember, horse shows will be temporarily suspended to ensure the smooth running of the competition during the equestrian events. If you are interested in riding Akhal-Teke horses or feeding adorable ponies, please buy tickets in advance via platforms like Douyin (TikTok) or Meituan. Tickets are also available at Tonglu Equestrian Park.
