“Let’s go crack lantern riddles!” Lingfeng, where the new year’s carnival was staged, is thronged with people in quest of the blooming plum flowers on Feb. 10.

As the city’s most popular destination to view plum blossoms, Lingfeng is home to over 5,000 plum trees of more than 100 varieties. The carnival celebrating the new Year of Snake will be closed on Mar. 10, featuring three zones for display of natural views, bonsais, and outdoor decorations, respectively. The bonsai show offers an exhibition of nearly 100 plum blossom bonsais.

More plums are blooming as warmth is back. According to the botanical garden, about 20-30% of the plum trees at Lingfeng are now in bloom. It is estimated that they would be in wide and full blossom by mid-February.

The garden hosts a fair for such jubilant moments during the Spring Festival. In addition to lantern riddles, you can try the making of a greeting card here. You’ll also find several camera-worth spots across the premises calling for snapshots.

For smooth public transit, Hangzhou Bus opens a dedicated shuttle bus (1003M) for this year’s flower quest. More 1003M bus shifts are available, yet the route remains the same. It departs at the west of Dragon Sports Center, heading for the south gate of the garden without any stops. You can take Metro Lines 3 or 10 and hop off at Dragon Sports Center station first (Exit B), then walk to the west of the Dragon Sports Center for boarding of the shuttle bus.

Please be noticed that the specialized bus will be available from today to Mar. 9. The west of Dragon Sports Center will be kept open from 8:30 to 16:30, and that for the south gate of the garden, 8:45-17:30.
