Prince Peak in Lin’an, with its stunning sunrises, sea of clouds, and mesmerizing winter landscapes, has been a crowded tour destination for days. As temperatures drop, the snow-capped peaks draw an increasing number of visitors.

Hangzhou Meteorological Observatory warns that visitors have to check the weather forecast before the climbing, including accurate weather information for the next three days in the area, well-planned hiking route, and appropriate clothing and equipment. While on mountains, don’t put on bravado but avoid entering hazardous areas.

According to the meteorological authority, although the temperatures in the city center are not particularly low, the figures in high-altitude regions are generally below 0°C, with some areas even as low as -10°C. Extremely low temperatures, combined with high humidity and strong winds, can lead to rapid heat loss from the body, making hypothermia a significant risk if precautions are not taken.

As the weather clears and temperatures rise over the next few days, Hangzhou’s daytime high on Wednesday is expected to reach 13°C, making it relatively comfortable. This is an ideal time for sightseeing. Besides visiting the mountains to view the snow, there are many more places to go and relax.

Xianghu Lake, for instance, now features a couple of new leaf-like installations along the shores. “Heart to Heart” is in particular the first water-based one for the Autumn Leaf Art Festival. Two swans crafted from fallen leaves float gracefully on the water, creating a romantic and picturesque scene that twins the winter view in reverse.

Apart from light rain on the 26th, it is mostly cloudy over the next few days. While the daytime conditions are agreeable, mornings and evenings remain chilly without much sunlight. You may stay warm and take measures not to catch cold.
