On December 26, Hangzhou’s first “Red Scarf Park” officially opened in the Children’s Park as a new gift to our Young Pioneers.
At the opening ceremony, over 60 Young Pioneers from Xizi Lake Primary School and Changqiao Primary School sang the anthem “We Are the Successors of Communism” in front of the iconic sculpture “A Corner of the Red Flag”, and also revisited their oath. They also visited the Young Pioneers Park together with adult guests.
The park is now welcoming visitors. Located along the central axis from Sun Plaza to Moon Plaza, the park features several functional areas, including a landmark sculpture “A Corner of the Red Flag,” the Red Scarf Park e-Station, and a Red Art Corner. Leveraging the rich resources and entertaining facilities of the city’s zoo and the Children’s Park, the Red Scarf Park offers four series of hands-on experiential projects, i.e. red education, science probes, nature classes, and volunteer services. They all cater to children’s needs for nature cognition, physical activities, play, exploration, and family interaction. The park provides a joyful and educational environment where children can learn about nature, engage in fun activities, and subtly take in the spirit of our nation.
The park is not only a red-themed space that immerses Young Pioneers in the history and mission of their organization but an event hub that helps showcase talents. By extending red education from theory to practice, the park encourages Young Pioneers to digest and practice our national spirit with correct values and worldviews. This initiative will help lay a solid foundation for nurturing well-rounded socialist builders and successors who excel in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor skills.
