Farmers in Daijia Village, Lianhua Town, recently harvested a unique crop: durian-flavored sweet potatoes. A combination of mechanical harvesting and manual sorting was used to bring in this year’s yield.
This novel variety has quickly gained popularity due to its soft, glutinous texture and distinctive durian-like aroma. Hangzhou Beimiao Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. successfully cultivated 150 mu (approximately 100,000 square meters) of durian-flavored sweet potatoes across Daijia, Qiping, and other villages in Lianhua Town. This is the first time the company has ventured into cultivating this crop. The harvest season is now underway, with yields averaging an impressive 2,000 kilograms per mu. This successful cultivation promises substantial economic benefits.
