Recently, the worry-free consumption commercial area standardization pilot project of GDA Plaza in Gongshu District of Hangzhou passed the municipal-level evaluation, becoming the only project in the field of consumption that has been selected. This also represents another practical outcome of Gongshu District in carrying out the “worry-free consumption in Zhejiang” initiative.

Hangzhou is working to build standard, well-regulated, and high-quality commercial areas for worry-free consumption. In step with this initiative, the Gongshu District Administration for Market Regulation took the lead in the province to implement the worry-free consumption commercial area standardization pilot project. The goal is to give full play to the role of standardization in regulating and guiding commercial areas for worry-free consumption and improve the overall service quality of the commercial areas in Gongshu District, which ranks No. 1 in the province by retail sales of consumer goods.

The Gongshu District Administration for Market Regulation has taken a series of measures to create a better environment for worry-free consumption and improve the service quality of commercial areas. These measures including setting standards, strengthening the implementation and communication of standards, innovating in standardization pilot projects, and increasing the visibility of commercial areas.

A comprehensive and refined system of standards has been established, including the Standard Management Measures, the Requirements on Departmental Functions and Responsibility, the Management Specification of the General Service Department, the Management Specification of the Operations Department, and the Employee Behavior Management Specification. Through the implementation of these standards, the commercial area has made significant progress in standard management. As a result, GDA Plaza has been selected as one of “Hangzhou’s Top Ten Model Commercial Areas for Worry-free Consumption” for two consecutive years.

With the standardization efforts of GDA Plaza as a model, the Gongshu District Administration for Market Regulation will continue to fully leverage the role of standardization in building a worry-free consumption environment, and improve the overall service quality of the commercial areas in the district. It will strive to create a better environment for consumption and promote the healthy development of the sector centered on commercial areas.
