Hangzhou has a new intercontinental flight. At 23:55 on August 27, the fully-loaded flight JD361 by Capital Airlines took off from Hangzhou International Airport with its more than 240 passengers. It marked the official launch of Hangzhou’s direct flight to Madrid, the fourth intercontinental flight Hangzhou International Airport opened after those to Italy’s Rome, Portugal’s Lisbon and Egypt’s Cairo. 

The new air route uses A330 aircraft and operates two two-way flights every week. The flight from Hangzhou to Madrid is JD361, which takes off from Hangzhou at 23:55 and arrives in Madrid at 8:25 the next day. The flight from Madrid to Hangzhou is JD362, which takes off from Madrid at 12:30 local time and lands in Hangzhou at 7:55 the next day. 

Since earlier this year, Hangzhou International Airport has speed up the reopening of international and regional flights. It now has flights to 24 passenger destinations across three continents. The opening of the flight to Madrid will further improve the airport’s international flight network, and promote China-Spain trade and economic ties and two-way integration of tourism and culture. It also provides a new convenient travel option for compatriots in Europe and for those heading to Spain, Portugal and Italy.
