The third Yangtze River Delta Chrysanthemum Exhibition and the ninth Hangzhou Chrysanthemum Art Exhibition was unveiled in Hangzhou Botanical Garden on October 31. Under the theme of “Lush mountains and Lucid Waters for Shared Prosperity,” the exhibition will last till November 28.
The exhibition has three display areas with distinctive highlights. Twelve groups of chrysanthemums have been arranged across the garden. Chrysanthemums are shaped like towers, cliffs and bonsai in scenic spots of Yuquan Garden and Shanshui Garden. The Yuquan long corridor displays different species of chrysanthemums from across the country. The total number of flowers in display in the area exceeds 1,300.
The chrysanthemum landscape is elaborately designed by gardeners for a better visual effect, according to the Hangzhou Botanical Garden. The north gate of the garden is flanked by cascade-like chrysanthemums in baskets in a gesture of welcoming visitors. The flowers are also made into patterns of gourds, vases, butterflies and columns, adding the charm of the scene. Chrysanthemum-scented bridge, a popular destination in Yuquan South Garden, has been decorated with brilliant daisies in suspended baskets. More than 7,000 pots of chrysanthemums present a stunning scene of autumn day in Yuquan and Shanshui gardens.
A series of cultural and art activities will also be held during the exhibition. They include an exhibition about the knowledge of the flowers. Visitors are welcomed to have an immersive experience of traditional Chinese culture about chrysanthemums.
