A unique drum music flash, called "Drums for the New Year", was staged in the morning of January 17 on Hubin Pedestrian Street. The space was just filled with a festive aura by the 60 plus brilliant dancers.

The flash also coexisted with “The Image on the Lake”, a public art show provided by the avant-garde artist Hui Wei, that comprised a bunch of patterned decorations to greet the approaching festival. Separately named "Gift to Hangzhou", "Ripples of Melody", "Dream Scroll" and "Fireflies", etc., the artwork series with a strong flavor of the New Year was also an attraction to many visitors.
