According to reports from Hangzhou International Airport, the facility experienced robust growth in transportation metrics throughout 2025 - it’s recorded a total of 330,000 takeoffs and landings, served 50.46 million passengers, and handled 790,000 tons of cargo. Compared to the previous year, these figures represent increases of 2.7%, 5.0%, and 7.9% respectively, propelling the airport to the seventh place among domestic airports by annual passenger volume.

As a key gateway for Zhejiang Province’s high-level opening strategy, HIA has significantly enhanced its global connectivity. For the first time, it surpassed the milestone of serving over 50 million passengers annually in 2025. The airport has actively expanded and optimized its international route network, resuming flights between Hangzhou and destinations such as Hanoi and Jakarta, while also welcoming the prestigious Emirates airline. These developments have markedly improved accessibility to major economies worldwide and strengthened network integration.

The efficiency of resource utilization at the airport stands out, with all deployed capacity being fully utilized. In 2025, the average load factor for inbound and outbound flights reached 89.1%, topping the list among China's top ten airports for 24 consecutive months. By the end of 2025, the airport operated routes to 223 destinations across five continents, spanning 35 countries and regions, attracting 75 airlines from home and abroad. This has provided strong support for Zhejiang Province’s goal of becoming a leading open economy.

It’s been continuously improving services to better serve international travelers. Its newly revamped International Service Center integrates payment, immigration, communication, and tourism services, supporting foreign card payments and multi-currency exchanges across all scenarios. Domestically, the launch of "Instant Hangzhou Travel" allows passengers flying on the Guangzhou-Hangzhou fast line without checked luggage to reach their boarding gates just 15 minutes before departure. Additionally, the airport introduced the first pet lounge in East China and launched smart travel solutions for unaccompanied minors, alongside convenient baggage services like “Scan and Check” and “Easy Go.” These initiatives aim to offer passengers a seamless, warm, and culturally enriching travel experience.
