On September 17, the Xin’anjiang Campus of Hangzhou Polytechnic University was officially unveiled and opened, set to welcome its first cohort of more than 1,600 students. The campus is a joint effort between the university and Jiande—and the first institution of higher learning ever established within Jiande’s borders. Located in Xin’anjiang Subdistrict, it sits close to Jiande South Railway Station and the Hang-Xin-Jing Expressway. Phase one covers about 630 mu, with a total floor area of 152,000 square meters, designed to accommodate 5,000 students. Once fully built out, the campus will be able to host around 10,000 full-time students.
