Ever since Hangzhou officially declared the start of sanfu—that sweltering, dog-day stretch of the summer calendar—the mercury has been playing along perfectly, with heatwave after heatwave. And let’s be real: when the sun’s beating down like that, who doesn’t crave an ice-cold drink to knock the heat right out? Well, from today (July 17) through Sunday, kicking off at 3:00 PM each afternoon, Qianjiang Century City is finally rolling out the much-anticipated “Come to the Bridge for a Drink · Summer Chill Drinks Party”—and it’s here to show you a whole different side of summer.
With the 2026 World Cup final just nights away, The Century City is also dialing up the football fever with a full-blown carnival themed around the beautiful game. On the ground, five interactive football challenges are waiting to be conquered: test your marksmanship with the “Flying Volley” kick, unlock a quirky twist with “Polo in the Year of the Horse,” aim for the bullseye in “Kick It into the Ring,” team up for a two-player sync battle in “Footsie Friends,” and go for glory with the “Precision Header King”—where you can set a new high score. Visitors can tick off these challenges between sips and strolls, adding an extra layer of fun to the party.
But the action doesn’t stop at football. Live band performances will be firing up the stage one after another, turning up the heat—musically speaking—on these summer nights. Then, from 7:30 PM each evening, open-air movies will roll out under the stars, so the lineup stays fresh from morning till night—no two moments are the same. On top of all that, stand-up paddleboarding will be available during the event, with limited sessions starting at 3:00 PM—three rounds a day, each welcoming up to 40 participants. If you are after a watery way to cool down, this one is definitely worth a try.
And if all that playing and dancing wears you out, don’t sweat it—there’s a full spread of food and drink waiting to recharge you. From artisanal pour-over coffee and creative cocktail concoctions, to craft beer labels, gourmet plates, and flavour-packed street snacks, your taste buds are in for just as good a time as the rest of you.
The event is spread across three venues: Bridge No. 3 at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center, the Asian Games-themed park right underneath it, and the outdoor lawn at Gate 7 of the Hangzhou International Expo Center. That said, to keep the experience smooth, stress-free, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone, entry to the Chill Drinks Party requires a QR-code scan for advance reservation. If you’re keen to join in, be sure to check out the details and secure your spot.
