If you are looking for a cool getaway in Tonglu this summer, you are in luck. A brand-new water park is set to open just in time. According to the county authority, the water park in Senbo Tonglu Resort Phase II, located in Yaolin Town, has just finished installing its main attraction—a set of large, colorful water slides. The intertwining green, red, and white pipes twist around the outside of the building like a rainbow around.

“We are putting the final touches on the project and expect the park and the riverside hotel to be up and running by this summer,” says Zhang Yuqi, assistant general manager and marketing director of Senbo Resort Tonglu. The water park features both indoor and outdoor areas, with a range of high-adrenaline rides for younger visitors. “On top of that, the snow park will bring together the most popular ice and snow attractions and add a variety of other entertainment options, making it a family-friendly destination for all ages,” Zhang adds.

Tonglu’s Senbo Resort spans a planned area of about three square kilometers, with a total investment of roughly RMB 2 billion. The project is being rolled out in three phases. Linked by a three-dimensional transport network along the Fenshui River and its banks, the resort connects four main zones—the Equestrian Center, the Senbo Resort, the Senbo Grandma’s Resort, and the Rural Experience Zone. The complex offers accommodation, recreation, dining, equestrian activities, hot springs, retail, meeting facilities, and cultural experiences—all in one high-end, all-weather destination for visitors of all ages, with a distinctive appeal in East China.

“As new attractions like the water park and snow park gradually come online, the project will continue to enhance its all-age holiday product mix,” says Zhang. “It’s all about bringing tourists from the Yangtze River Delta a higher-quality, more dynamic vacation experience.”
