Spring is in full bloom. Under the warm March sun, the 2026 Cherry Blossom Run—themed “Love Binjiang: Meet You in the Cherry Blossoms,”—is set to take place on March 28. Registration opened on March 17.

Since its debut, the Cherry Blossom Run has become a signature spring event in Binjiang District. This year holds special significance: it marks the 30th anniversary of the district, and the run itself is celebrating its 10th edition. So, what surprises are in store?

Organizers say this year’s event aims to blend culture with technology, tourism, and community life—all while staying true to the event’s core spirit of romance and public participation. The goal is to create a 10th-anniversary celebration that bridges the virtual and the real, inviting residents to experience the joy of city life in Binjiang and join a journey filled with passion and dreams.

Participants will start at Haichuang Park, making their way through Liuhe Road, the Zhijiang Greenway, and Wentao Road before finishing at Lianheli. The scenic route stretches exactly 13.14 kilometers—a number that symbolizes “a lifetime” in Chinese culture. The run is open to a total of 3,000 participants across three categories: general, family (parent-child), and group. Registration closes at noon on March 19, or as soon as slots fill up. Those interested can find more details through the “Binjiang News” WeChat official account.

To add a touch of ceremony to the experience, organizers have transformed parts of the route into a “time tunnel” showcasing classic photos from past runs between 2016 and 2025. For the 10th edition, a limited number of commemorative medals will be awarded to finishers. At the finish line, runners and visitors can look forward to a lively lineup of activities, including a “Flower Goddess” parade, a whimsical garden fair, and a market featuring cherry blossom-inspired crafts.
