The opening ceremony for the “City’s Mission” calligraphy, painting, and photography exhibition, along with the launch of the book “The City’s Metamorphosis: Yuhang”, was held on Jan. 26 at Hangzhou Municipal Party School (Yuhang Branch School).
The exhibition is divided into three sections: “Cradle of Civilization,” “Innovation Hub,” and “Haven of Happiness.” Through various artistic mediums - calligraphy, paintings, and photographs - the exhibition captures distinctive scenes such as Liangzhu City Ruins, national-level scientific facilities, high-tech enterprises, the “Yu Shang Daoxiang” agricultural region, and the “Village Council Under a Camphor Tree” in Xiaogucheng Village. These works showcase Yuhang District’s ancient cultural heritage, its burgeoning innovation ecosystem, and its idyllic urban and rural landscapes. The exhibition also traces the district’s transformation from an agricultural powerhouse to a thriving modern metropolis, highlighting the harmonious blend of history and modernity, culture and technology, and nature and humanity.
The book “The City’s Metamorphosis: Yuhang Chapter” brings together experts, scholars, writers, and editors who have delved deep into Yuhang’s urban and rural areas, uncovering stories of change and progress. It offers an in-depth analysis of 20 key regions, exploring the internal logic, practical pathways, and contemporary significance of Yuhang’s transformation. During the event, representatives from Yuhang Street, Xianlin Street, Cangqian Street, Pingyao Town, Jingshan Town, Huanghu Town, Future Sci-Tech City, and Liangzhu New Town received the first copies of the book.
“A city has its own mission in every era. As a citizen, I wish to grow alongside my city and hope for a brighter future for Yuhang!” said Zhou Feng, a citizen representative.
This exhibition was guided by the General Office of the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, organized by the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Congress Research Society and the Yuhang District People’s Congress Standing Committee, and implemented by the Yuhang District People’s Congress Research Society.
