Hangzhou’s 2026 National Tea Drinking Day, along with the fun-filled “Tea in Daicun” gathering, recently got brewing at Sanqing Garden in Daicun Town, Xiaoshan District. The event featured five themed zones—“Tea Vibes,” “Sanqing Tea House,” “Tea & Tech,” and more—showcasing the best of Hangzhou’s teas, waters, and tea ware. On-site, master roasters gave live demos of traditional Sanqing tea processing, while visitors got to roll up their sleeves and dive into the hands-on experience of crafting top-quality Sanqing tea.
During the event, the Xiaoshan District Sanqing Tea Industry Alliance was officially launched, bringing together local tourism associations, big-name companies, and industry groups to map out future growth. Daicun Town also inked a deal with the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, bringing serious scientific know-how to boost the high-quality development of the Sanqing tea sector. They’re also digging into the tea’s cultural roots around integrity and clean governance, aiming to build a so-called “integrity community” to steer the industry forward with transparency.
On top of that, from April 22 through International Tea Day on May 21, a city-wide “Tea Culture Five-Entry” campaign will roll out across Hangzhou, bringing tea into government offices, schools, communities, companies, and households. A slew of tea-themed events will pop up all over town, creating a buzzing, tea-loving atmosphere and once again proving why Hangzhou truly deserves its crown as China’s tea capital.
