A dedicated Lycoris exhibition curated by Hangzhou Botanical Garden (Hangzhou West Lake Landscape Science Research Institute) is now open to the public. It is scheduled to run by August 28 (with longer open days for Natural Lycoris Section potentially if the blooming continues), offering residents and visitors a feast of eyes and knowledge.
The exhibition consists of two sections. The Natural Lycoris outdoors, features millions of Lycoris plants in dozens of varieties, including Lycoris chinensis, Lycoris aurea, and Lycoris rosea - creating a dazzling tapestry of colors. Meanwhile, the Lycoris Display within the Yuquan Park presents over a hundred potted native and international Lycoris varieties through creative arrangements of bonsai and grasses. This section also showcases potted endangered plants such as Sinojackia xylocarpa and Davidia involucrata, further highlighting the exhibition’s focus on biodiversity.
The botanical garden also offers side activities such as guided tour, study tour, and master classes, alongside the launch of visitor gifts like embroidered Lycoris refrigerator magnets. Go for an encounter with Lycoris in the middle of summertime. Don’t miss it.
