The first “Summer Quest at Feilai Peak” guided tour kicked off at the Feilai Peak Scenic Area by the West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Hangzhou.

This innovative event features a meticulously designed immersive wellness route that engages all five senses- sight, touch, sound, taste, and smell- against the backdrop of Feilai Peak’s millennia-old cultural legacy and enchanting landscapes. Offering urban residents a “spiritual oasis” for mental and physical rejuvenation, the initiative elevates the West Lake’s cultural depth and appeal. The event will run through October.

The wellness route divides Feilai Peak’s Jade Spring and Orchid Valley area into five thematic zones, i.e. Heaven’s Grace, Earth’s Blessing, Family Love, Mentorship, and Gratitude, each corresponding to sensory-specific flora and interactive experiences that form an interlinked “Circle of Healing Energy.”

Notably, AR technology helps enhance the engagement. Visitors can scan QR codes at eight points (including the “Tree of Blessings,” “Five Gratitude Drums,” and the Feilai Peak Archway) to summon a virtual Ji’gong (a legendary Buddhist monk) image for playful photos. Completing all check-ins will unlock an exclusive gift.

Additional highlights include a striking “Gratitude (恩)” art installation near Gate 7, composed of 50 giant ice blocks that deliver visual and tactile relief-perfect for the theme. By the ancient sweetgum trees (known as the “Couple Trees”), pop-up Traditional Chinese Medicine stations offer free AI-assisted diagnosis, pulse-reading devices, and herbal teas for summertime wellness.
