Qianjiang New City has launched a brand-new autumn-themed light show - also an immersive visual feast for residents and visitors alike. The display is a joint project by the city’s Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau (City Management Bureau), Linkong Economic Demonstration Zone (Qiantiang New City Management Committee), and Hangzhou Daily.

Inspired by autumn, it uses light and shadow artistry to capture Hangzhou’s unique fall charm - a blend of serene elegance and vibrant energy.

Structured like a visual symphony, the performance unfolds in three movements:

1. Autumn Glows: This segment invites you on a stroll around West Lake. Leifeng Pagoda glows softly in the sunset, while the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon cast golden reflections on the water. A full moon rises, merging with the lake and clouds, evoking the poetic grace of the Song Dynasty. Golden osmanthus blossoms dance in the breeze, classical paintings slowly unfurl, and wild geese sweep across the sky as if carrying the message of the White Dew solar term across the city.

Autumn Hues: Here, the show transitions to autumn’s bounty and vitality. Persimmon trees at Xixi Wetland hang heavy with fruits like little lanterns, as rowing boats glide beneath shaded branches. Bagua Farmland displays a patchwork of ripening crops to celebrate the harvest. At Qingshan Lake, the bald cypress forest turns a stunning reddish-gold. Ginkgo leaves twirl through the air, and Yinxiu Bridge becomes wrapped in autumn colors, resembling a flowing oil painting.

3. Surging Tides: It powerfully recreates the legendary tale of king Qian Liu shooting the tides. Spectacular tidal scenes - from the crossing tide to the single-line tide - unfold wave after wave. Giant waves crash like lions against the banks, sending spray into the air, while the awe of onlookers merges with the roar of the tide, illustrating a dramatic dialogue between natural force and human spirit.
