The cast of the Zhejiang-produced film A Cloud Like You - Qu Chuxiao and Wang Ziwen (Olivia Wang) - attended a roadshow in Hangzhou, engaging with local moviegoers and sharing behind-the-scenes stories.
The film, backed by Hangzhou Ruyi Pictures - a cultural enterprise based in Yuhang District - was shot in Qingshan Village. It also received support from Zhejiang Literature and Art Development Fund, Hangzhou Elite Artworks Project, and the Yuhang District Arts Fund.
The movie tells a heartfelt love story that transcends life and death. Olivia Wang plays Xiaofan, who shares a lifelong romance with Qu Chuxiao’s character Qin Tian - from school days to wedding. But their marriage is cut short by a tragic accident. Director Yao Tingting previously described the film as an exploration of “love and farewell.” She noted, “Love goes through many stages. What matters is cherishing every day with the one you love.” Producer Chen Zhixi called it a “warm and healing work,” emphasizing its “gentle storytelling and sincere emotions,” and the idea that “it’s always worth being brave enough to love, no matter what.”
Qu Chuxiao opened up about his character’s charm and the challenges of filming. His character Qin Tian - praised by audiences as “sweet and thoughtful” - can cook and design rooms. The most memorable scene for Qu was “taking Xiaofan to see the clouds.” Interestingly, the clouds in the film weren’t CGI. In fact, they were tangible. “The studio had to be completely sealed to prevent any air flow, so the clouds could hold their shape. But they would still disperse over time, so we had to work quickly and nail the shot in one take,” he shared.
Olivia Wang also had nothing but praise for the filming location, Qingshan Village. “The first time I went there, I thought it was just like a dream - so beautiful.”
