The relaunched “West Lake Night Tour Bus” becomes a huge hit again this summer. The bus is loaded with people straight back from the office, hoping to eliminate their body fatigue in the breeze. It will also be a ride for families, parents with kids, to spend the night by the lake. The route is even on the to-do list of travelers coming from afar.
“I got so excited when passing the bridges on Yanggong Causeway on the ‘City Roller Coaster Pro’ - like a lift that soars and drops! It’s over in a flash, however, and I wish I could ride a few more laps!” Someone left a voice that is actually shared by lots more passengers.
The feedback was answered. The night bus route will be adjusted on September 20. Thereafter, the “City Roller Coaster Pro” will pass the six bridges on the Yanggong Causeway twice.
The new route will be a shuttle run, allowing passengers to travel twice between the six bridges at one go. That will be a ride slowly crossing the lit-up bridges, and breathing air fill with the scent of sweet osmanthus. It makes what was once a single trip a “doubled delight.”
According to Hangzhou Public Transport, theer are two reasons for the route adjustment. On one hand, as autumn arrives, osmanthus flowers are about to bloom in full splendor. Some intangible cultural heritage experience events will be hosted on Manjuelong Road - temporary traffic control will come in force by the time. On the other hand, the change also addresses the public’s need to “enjoy more of the fun across the bridges.”
Notably, to facilitate passenger reservations, a slight change will also be made on night bus schedule. Both two routes will have a new timetable from September 22 - there will be a new “City Roller Coaster Pro” shift scheduled at 19:00, 19:45, and 20:30, and the ride on West Lake Tour Bus will depart at 19:30 and 20:30. Just remember the new schedules and not to miss it.
Booking of any one of the shifts will be open seven days before it starts. Click open the mini-program “Hangzhou Public Transport” on WeChat or Alipay to buy tickets, or you may scan the code on the bus stop signs. It is allowed to buy more than one ticket if you hang out with your family or friends. It’s very easy to use - simply show the access code when boarding the bus.
