Suxin is a rarity of orchids. If its petals look like plum blossom, narcissus, lotus, or other forms, it is considered of supreme quality.

The Orchid Garden of Hangzhou Flower Nursery has one of such kind. It is called “Chi Ke He Su,” exclusive only to the Flower Nursery - truly an invaluable jewel there. Unlike other spring orchids, “Chi Ke He Su” does not bloom every year.

“Chi Ke He Su” is so rare an orchid variety, according to the Huagang Administration. To protect it and increase its population, the orchid is being taken care of by veterans at the Flower Nursery. It was once divided and re-potted over the past few years. This year, two of the potted orchids have bloomed, with one producing twin flowers on a single stalk. “I saw them first in 2019 and the second time in 2022. So this is the third time,” said Xu Ye, an orchid expert. “Great to see them. Everything I did is not in vain.”
