The city’s authority hosted a ceremonial event on January 5 to extend its highest respects to the citywide model workers and their families last year.
In the company of a melody of Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, over eight hundred distinguished figures and their family members jointly participated in this event, including Dongge Dongjie Police Volunteers, Spark Volunteer Service, and Tonglu Nuanyang Volunteers, to name a few. Volunteers and model individuals from all over Hangzhou were the focus of attention. They come from all walks of life, like average workers, volunteers always ready to help, and skilled technicians committed to innovation. Such ordinary men and women, with extraordinary exploits, are the role models for the whole society.
Mr. Kong Shengdong, a National Model Worker and National Moral Model, was present to the event. He said that “the show is inspiring for volunteers and moral models. It allows us to exchange and learn from each other, so that in the new year we will be doing better to make Hangzhou the most beautiful city.”
The show was divided into three chapters: “Who Light Up the Sky,” “Sun, Moon, and Stars,” and “The Social Heritage,” featuring fifteen programs that span a range of art forms, like singing, acrobatics, magic, talk show, sit-com, and string ensemble. It was concluded with the anthem of the city - “Paradise in Our Dream.”
