As the Paris Olympics is getting fierce, the annual National Fitness Day on August 8 also invites everyone to enjoy the thrills of sports.
On this year’s National Fitness Day, all sports facilities, venues and stadiums in Hangzhou will open their doors to the public, especially the Asian Games facilities that will offer free access. The admission procedures and booking time slots for each facility may vary.
Take the highly anticipated Olympic Sports Center as an instance. The reservation for the Olympic Sports Center Stadium and Tennis Center must be done via the “Hangzhou Sports Online” on the public service app Zheliban, while that for the Gymnasium, Aquatic Sports Arena, and Training Hall should go through the mini-program “Hangzhou Olympic AT Center.”
Venues such as Hangzhou Stadium, Chen Jinglun Sports School Swimming Centre, and Shangcheng District Public Fitness Centre do not require reservations for entry.
The availability also varies. In addition to popular sports, like badminton, table tennis, and basketball, you can find less common sports such as air volleyball, tap-tap ball, gateball, and bocce. Details at each venue can be found on the “Hangzhou Sports” WeChat official account.
On August 8, Huanglong Sports Centre will host the main event for National Fitness Day, featuring the Calorie-Burning Arena, the “Zhejiang-themed” bazaar, along with national fitness activities and events for the publicity of the Physical Culture and Sports Law and National Fitness Regulations.
This Saturday, Huanglong Sports Centre will also host a themed “Together with Olympics” National Fitness Day running event, joined 88 running groups comprised of 880 runners from across the province. The run will start at the East Plaza and take laps of 8.8 km inside the Stadium. Free physical fitness testing for the public will also be available.
