Wensli, a Hangzhou-based silk business, was recently recognized as a national demonstration base for cultural and technological integration by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and National Radio and Television Administration.

A business proud of its silk-inspired contents and technologies as the core competitiveness, Wensli offers a new vitality to traditional silks with a portfolio of technologies and culture. By making use of artificial intelligence and big data, Wensli has achieved major breakthroughs in silk design and production.

Wensli’s AIGC system satisfies the company with more than 500,000 patterns and 300 AI imaging algorithms, which make it capable of simultaneously designing 100,000 different types of silk scarves for consumers worldwide. Its eco-friendly digital machine, which no longer consume water in printing and dyeing, can help address the long-standing texture waste water issue. The little thing that produces no waste, yet efficient in use, creates a new model of “sales before production” in business.

During the Asian Games, Wensli demonstrated how it could translate a graphic design into a real scarf in just two hours. Technology made it. “We are just spearheading. The company is running off the beaten road, and we are in a city full of cultural heritages,” said Li Jianhua, president of Wensli.

The heavy investment in research brings Wensli a good deal of advanced technologies, including AI design, double-sided digital printing, green dyeing, etc. The company’s state-level technology platforms, like the post-doctoral center, is also the engine for its industrial upgrading and overhauls.
