On June 15, the world’s top retail chain Costco, which have more than 850 stores worldwide, held a tasting at Youshiguang Square, Qianwan Community, Jiangnan Innovation Polis in Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou. The tasting offered a rich variety of delicacies to visitors, heightening the atmosphere of anticipation for its opening scheduled in August this year.

The Costco (Hangzhou) is located in Jiangnan Innovation Polis, with a total investment of USD160 million. It covers an area of 36,000 square meters, with a single-story floor space of 18,000 square meters. The first floor will be an 8-meter-high shopping center, while the second and third floors and the roof will serve as parking lots. After it is officially open, the store is expected to generate revenue of over RMB1 billion a year.

The store looks like a vast warehouse, where most of the merchandises are arranged in pallets without fancy decorations or excessive packaging. There are multiple zones in the store, including refrigerated products for same-day delivery, fresh seafood, refrigerated fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs and milk, cooked foods and bakery. A full range of products are available, such as home appliances, electronics and cosmetics.

The store is well accessible. It’s adjacent to Gengwen Road station on Metro Line 19. The surrounding roads have been opened and connected each other.
