Hangzhou hosted the inaugural meeting of the Hangzhou CQO Alliance Cosmetics Committee and the Cosmetics Science Week on May 25th. The committee includes many well-known local brands, like Florasis, Proya, and Mao Geping. It is chaired by Yige, Florasis' parent firm, and vice chairs are Mao Geping and Mary Kay.
"The Cosmetics Committee is the fifth committee under the Hangzhou CQO Alliance, which is of great significance to the cosmetics industry," Yu Min, deputy director of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Market Regulation, noted during the ceremony. The goal is to create a platform to promote high-quality growth, boost entrepreneurial exchanges, and facilitate services between government and businesses. Hangzhou is making every effort to provide one-stop service for industries and businesses, as well as to build an enabling environment, so that the city may become a leader in China's modernization.
Hangzhou is a promising land for budding beauty companies, thanks to strong encouragement from local brands such as Florasis, Proya, and Mao Geping. Its cosmetics capacity is only second to Guangzhou and Shanghai. Since the debut of the new national registration and filing platform in 2021, 850 Hangzhou beauty enterprises have opened accounts, outnumbering other cities in Zhejiang. So far, 14,448 regular cosmetic items have been filed (11,147 produced in China and 3,301 imported), while 627 special products have been registered.
The Qiantang District Bureau of Market Regulation shared beauty knowledge at the event through videos, pamphlets, and exhibition boards. Local businesses (for example, Mao Geping, Florasis, Pony Testing, OSM, Savolherb, and Mary Kay) showcased their quality management systems and offered consultation services. On the very same day, the Qiantang District Bureau of Market Regulation also launched "May 25th Skincare Day" at the Landsea International Block, spreading tips about cosmetic safety and providing consumers with skin care assistance.
