Just after the Beginning of Summer, water lilies, known as “summer heralds” and “water beauties” started to bloom on the West Lake. But where to find water lilies in the West Lake scenic area?

Recently, coming to the quiet Guozhuang by the West Lake, people will find fully bloomed red, yellow, and light pink water lilies, with dreamy petals and green leaves stretching in the green water. Golden carp slowly swim by, adding more charm to the scene. Anyhow, it is a good place to bring up cameras.

Water lilies also adorn the lake near Zijiu Caotang in Yuhu Bay. A gentle breeze softly blows, creating tiny ripples on the surface of the lake. The lingering fragrance makes the water lilies more elegant and peaceful. If it rains, the kind of haze the water lilies on the lake create is as touching as Monet’s oil painting.

In addition to Guozhuang and Yuhu Bay, “Sancun Jinlian” (three-inch golden lotus)” in Quyuan Fenghe, Wugui Tan and Maoxiang Shuiqing also embraces the arrival of summer enthusiastically.  

Recently, to create an ecological environment of “clear water, green shore, and beautiful scenery,” Huagang Management Office of Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area, bearing “Beautiful Hangzhou” in mind, has take measures to improve the water bodies by cleaning up Fushou snails, fishing out floaters, and mowing water plants, in a bid to further improve water quality, conserve the good landscape, and paint an ecological picture of clear waters and diversified beauties.
