The West Lake is boasting the most beautiful scenery in the year. And on the morning of May 10th, the press conference of the 5th China International Tea Expo was hosted in Hangzhou, announcing that the 5th China International Tea Expo will kick off at Hangzhou International Expo Center on May 20th to 24th.
Themed “Tea and the World Share Development,” the event, with an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters in total, and focusing on rural revitalization, the Asian Games, and common prosperity, will feature four exhibition zones concerning achievements display, brand image showing, special exhibitions and promotion areas so as to nurture brands and link production and marketing. The expo will comprehensively look at the achievements realized in China’s tea industry, demonstrate new varieties, new technologies, new equipment, and new business forms, promote tea trading and spread the Chinese tea culture. The expo, setting up 2,003 booths and having attracted over 800 exhibitors from dozens of countries and regions, will display six renowned tea categories, such as black tea, green tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, dark tea, and white tea, as well as tea set, tea clothing, tea packaging equipment, tea processing technologies, and cultural products, totaling more than 10,000 product types.
At the same time, to attract more attention, the expo will open online channels to promote tea products, including a WeChat mini program. By online selling and enriching offline experience, the event aims to further showcase tea brands, promote tea tourism, and enhance tea trade.
It is reported that the “Hangzhou Index of China’s Tea Industry” will be released at the expo, leading the steady development of tea enterprises as the “wind vane. The expo will innovatively introduce such elements as the Asian Games, sports, and intangible cultural heritage, spread the concept of healthy sports, and show the charm of excellent tea culture. During the expo, a series of activities will take place, including China Tea Industry International Summit Forum on tea in West Lake.

The Zhejiang exhibition and sales area of this expo will be located at Hall C on the 3rd floor, with over 150 exhibitors from all over the province. In addition to Longjing and other quality green teas, there will also be locally produced black tea, yellow tea, black tea, as well as matcha products, tea daily necessities, tea food, etc. In the exhibition area, intangible cultural heritage performances will be staged to promote tea skills and tea customs, and tea machinery, tea processing technologies, and tea culture will be promoted, unfolding the coordinated development achievements of the “three teas” (tea culture, tea industry and tea processing technology) of Zhejiang.
In terms of exhibition, the Zhejiang exhibition hall in Hall B on the third floor will focus on the coordinated development of the “three teas,” common prosperity, distribution of famous tea brands, and better life, highlighting the outcomes of the digital platform of “Zhejiang Tea Industrial Brain” and “Zhexiangcha,” and fully displaying the charm of Zhejiang as the world tea hometown.
