Lingyin (the Flying Peak scenic area), a must-go scenic view of Hangzhou, is always thronged with tourists in holidays. Crowds bustle around the ticket offices, ticket vending machines, and “Code for Tickets” signs.

The launch of the in-bus ticketing service, thanks to the city’s public transport service and Lingyin administration, is to offer a greater travel experience during the May Day holiday – all you need to do is just to scan a code aboard with your phone to buy tickets. It helps optimize the road restrictions across the West Lake and delve into more effective approaches to traffic jams within the area.

#608 Xixi Road, Longxiang Qiao and Huanglong Sports Center are the three bus transfer stops facilitated with signs and instructions on such “Code for Ticket” service. Volunteers are also available for those unfamiliar with e-wallet or code scanning. You can buy tickets there and head for Lingyin by bus. When you get there, just show your ticket code for entry.

The instructions can also be seen in bus cabins on the three dedicated routes to Lingyin, enabling passengers to learn the procedures and quickly get tickets on the way.

Passenger flow statistics showed the “Code for Ticket” service has covered over 35,000 people daily. It has been proved that advance tickets dramatically shrink the queue time at the entrance, ease peak flows, and thin the jams at the access gates.
