Music lovers and culture vultures in Hangzhou were treated to a unique week-long extravaganza - the West Lake Music Fair. This vibrant festival transformed BinGo, a cool new digital hub on the iconic Hubin Pedestrian Street, into a buzzing marketplace of music, art, fashion, food, and exploration.

BinGo, known for its seamless blend of digital and real-world experiences, provided the perfect backdrop for the market. Visitors were greeted by a kaleidoscope of stalls arranged along the promenade, near the Musical Fountain, their blue and green hues reflecting the spring beauty of the West Lake. On April 17th, around 11:00 AM, the market came alive with an unexpected burst of music. A guitar ripped through the air, accompanied by the passionate vocals of two performers stationed at the heart of the market. This spontaneous performance stopped tourists and locals in their tracks, drawing them in to experience the magic of music.

Over 60 vendors were here to showcase their wares, from trendy accessories and handcrafted souvenirs to delicious treats and innovative fashion-tech products. Thanks to the Shangcheng District’s Arts Volunteers, this event also saw the exciting launch of the Musician Cooperation Plan, promising flash mobs featuring talented musicians popping up around the city.

Markets are everywhere, but a music market? Now, that’s something special. Throughout the week, the market buzzed with different musical acts each day. The artists, locations, times, and musical styles were all a delightful surprise – like opening a daily blind box of live music! Even the iconic Music Fountain joined in the fun, adding another layer of magic with synchronized water displays dancing to tunes with a national character.

But the fun didn’t stop there! The event also featured the Most Fashionable Lakeside City Walk route, including eight designated check-in points, showcasing the best of what West Lake has to offer – from scenic spots and trendy shops to top-notch restaurants. This route offered a treasure hunt experience, combining cultural gems with modern delights along the beautiful West Lake waterfront.

The event kicked off on April 15 and was a huge hit, with over 105,100 visitors on opening day – a 28.72% increase from the previous Monday. “Our goal is to bring a touch of culture to bustling areas like the Hubin Business District,” shared the event organizer. “We want to tap into the passion young people have for music, offering unique experiences that blend culture, shopping, and exploration.”
