The annual “The Science of Tea Week” hosted by the city’s China National Tea Museum, centering around “famed tea varieties in Hangzhou” this year, offers to the public a wide array of fun activities. The series will last about one week till April 20.

It features not only a journey to the Chinese tea culture but try in person the country’s best teas. In addition to the museum itself, lectures on tea culture, brewing, and drinking are to be held across grassroot communities, colleges and senior / junior high schools, offering an hands-on experience to catch the proper ways of tea drinking in life.

The first round of the “Tea Attractions Top 10” (first batch) nomination has qualified 17 candidates, and the final result is now being decided by a public vote. It was even through this event that many of us have learned for the first time about more teas of good quality from Hangzhou, along with the Longjing.

There is also a chance of learning more tea expertise at the museum, where tea experts will show you the way of steeping a nice tea and talk to you face-to-face. You can also consult them for general tea knowledge and tea culture. The museum will give lectures on the origin of the “Eight Views of Longjing” and more about the “Longjing Village (Longjing in Quest for Tea)”, like its scope of territory and the like.
