On October 30, 2025, Qiantang-Litang Autumn Consumer Support Series, part of this year’s “Tangtang Cultural Year,” was launched. The collaboration spanning a distance of 2,000 kilometers represents not only a tangible effort in paired assistance but opens a new chapter in the five-year partnership between two districts - that driven by integrated advancement in agriculture and tourism.
At the event, a range of premium Litang specialties drew crowds. From braised yak meat and instant butter tea packets to crispy highland barley biscuits and fragrant raw honey, local products were in high demand. Visitors lined up for tastings, while representatives from labor unions and restaurant associations scouted for quality suppliers. “Teachers at our school loved the yak meat zongzi from Litang last time - they couldn’t stop praising the flavor,” said Chen, a union procurement officer, moving between stalls with her shopping list in hand. “This time, I’m here to pick out more great products and build reliable supply channels to bring some of that ‘plateau taste’ into our employee benefits.” Local companies like Gaocheng Pengfei and Zhibao Trading took the stage to present yak dairy, honey, and other highland specialties, combining live demonstrations with storytelling. Meanwhile, Litang Tourism Investment Company introduced the region’s key attractions - from sacred Genie Mountain to the ancient Litong Town, all under the theme “Litang in the Clouds.” Huang Weihua, Executive Dean of Hangzhou New Era Consumer Assistance Research Institute, stressed Litang’s strengths in both products and views. “We are working a research program that benefits Litang’s visibility and appeal,” he noted.
A promising sign of growth: Litang’s agriculture and tourism wins a high rate in the eyes of many Zhejiang entrepreneurs. Baocheng Futures signed a rural revitalization cooperation agreement with Litang Bureau of Economy, Information, and Commerce, while several other local firms also sealed deals with Litang partners - totaling RMB 26 million in intended procurement. These partnerships are expected to create a steady supply chain of both regular and customized specialties for Zhejiang. A consumer experience store also opened in Qiantang District, bringing the highland flavors right to the people’s doorstep.
