Hangzhou Postal Express has signed agreements to further penetrate into the city’s rural areas. The company’s delivery service will cover 85% of Hangzhou’s villages by the end of this year and all villages before the end of next year.
Having access to express delivery service is a great step to boost the rural economy. Hangzhou Municipal Postal Administration said it will accelerate the service expansion, in the hope of energizing the local e-commerce activities and building stronger trading channels for farmers’ produce to be shipped to urban residents and industrial goods to be shipped to villagers.
The agreements also include provisions such as enhanced postal service network and increase of service outlets and warehouses. Details such as service scope, rate, payment settlement, and liabilities for breach of the contract need to be further negotiated.
