“Let the wet land parks become a green leisure space shared by all,” said President Xi Jinping during his inspection in Hangzhou. For summer, leisure, taking a shade, and going to parks to enjoy the sight of beautiful flowers are the must-haves. Yuhang Waterfront Park has started a water plant science promotion exhibition, mainly boutique bonsais of various water plant types. The exhibition will last till Jun 18.
The exhibition has for the first time included iris, which grows extensively in China’s wetlands, waterscape, flower lands, and courtyards. Over 100 pots of 50 types of iris are presented this time, some of which imported from Japan.
The park also exhibits small pots of lotus and water lily to promote the planting of such flowers for greeneries in parks. The park, with 13,000 square meters of waters, has added over 20 types of water plants in nearly 5,000 sqm of waters since 2017, including Louisiana iris series, lotus, water lily, Japanese water iris, Ludwigia stipulacea, Hedychium coronarium, and wetland hibiscus.
