2020 Tea Drinking Week starts

The 2020 Hangzhou Tea Drinking Week kicked off on May 15. On Nov 27, 2019, the United Nations General Assembly designated May 21 as International Tea Day. To celebrate the first International Tea Day and promote China’s tea culture, China International Tea Culture Institute, Hangzhou Municipal Government, Zhejiang University, and China Tea Science Society have jointly hosted the tea drink week activities.


Live broadcast activities online at 9 am-11:30 am, May 15 included tea roasting, tea ceremony performance, tea book give-away, tea poem reciting, tea dance, and tea culture lecture. The online streaming show gave away 20 tea gifts worth between CNY 200 and CNY 1,000 and 90 phone top-up cards. Some tea products were sold with discounts of up to CNY 1,500.
