The camellia flowers in the city’s scenic areas are blossoming as the winter comes, although many plants have started to hibernate.
Specifically, Meiren oolong tea flowers are in their blooms. The plants have bright leaves, single petals, and trumpet-shaped flowers that are conspicuously scarlet or pink. The name Meiren means beauty in mandarin, as the flowers are very eye-catching. Visitors to Huanggang Park, Santaishan Road, and Yu Qian Temple can see patches of such flowers.
The flowers blossom from November to March next year, adding a bit of color to the dull winter.
