The 2020 West Lake Chinese Cultural Parade during the weekend was joined by over 200 KOLs dressed in Hanfu, who rode ancient style floats and took a tour around the the city’s most famous scenic attraction.
Former curator Shan Jixiang of the Palace Museum, president Wu Haiyan of the design school of and China Academy of Art, and South Song Dynasty history scholar Li Fei attended a panel discussion on Chinese cultures as well as West Lake cultures at Taiziwan Park Oct 16. A number of institutions established the “West Lake Chinese Culture Alliance.”
Restaurants and stores along the parade route added elements of Chinese culture to the activity, such as the exhibition of cricket fighting jars and tools.
Taiziwan park also put up boards with over 200 rare Chinese characters for visitors to learn the profound culture in the Chinese language, with each character representing an intangible cultural heritage. The exhibition is also available online.
