On August 25,  Holley Group and Futong Group, two local companies in Hangzhou, opened their joint industrial park in Mexico. This is the first industrial park Chinese companies built in Mexico. It is also the second overseas industrial park for Holley after its first in Thailand, a new breakthrough for Hangzhou companies to participate in the “Belt & Road” initiative.

The park covers an area of 8.47 square kilometres. With manufacturing being the main business, it will host companies that produce auto components, electronics, electric devices, machineries, metal products, new energy & new material-related products. It will offer logistics, retailing, infrastructure, and lifestyle services. Over 100 enterprises from China and other countries will open branches in the park, with their total investment reaching USD 2 billion. The park will offer over 20,000 jobs.

“Investment in infrastructure and highly efficient public services are expected to attract more investors, bring more jobs, generate more business opportunities for local companies, and create more tax for local governments,” said Wang Licheng, chairman of Holley. The park will be the China town in Mexico as well as a platform for Chinese manufacturing companies to expand their business in North America, Mexico and Latin America.

The park is still under construction, and it will be ready for companies to start business by the year end.
