Hangzhou has welcomed another partner of “high IQ.” Hangzhou Cross-Border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone signed a memo of understanding with Google on June 21. The two sides will cooperate on digital marketing, brand promotion, cross-border e-commerce talent training, and project incubating. They will jointly help Chinese companies to stand out with the most advanced digital technologies.

As the world leading digital marketing service provider, Google is at the frontier of digital advertising sector, which will help Chinese companies in their global and digital expansion. The cooperation with Google can help local companies to restructure their market, improve profits, remake brands and create new value different from that of traditional foreign trade. “Hangzhou has a large number of innovative, creative SMEs, and boosted by Google’s digital marketing strength, they can expand their businesses,” said Scott Beaumont, Google Greater China President and Global VP.

According to the MoU, the zone and Google will make the best of Google AdWords to help local businesses to expand abroad and build their own brands. The two sides will also work with colleges, industrial associations, and platform operators to offer training on cross-border e-commerce, digital marketing, website building, and data analysis.

The city has held activities with companies including Amazon, Wish and made-in-china.com since last year to boost the city’s cross-border e-commerce industry development both home and abroad. As China’s first cross-border e-commerce pilot zone, Hangzhou is expected to become a strategically important business hub and trade center.
