City to see new night view along Qiantang River

Hangzhou’s night view is something now it’s well-known for, attracting attention from visitors of all round the world, as the city has never stopped upgrade its light facilities. The city’s urban administration commission and bureau of planning have started revising the plan for urban lighting, and it’s expected to completed in the first half of next year. Some of the guidelines for program have already been drafted.


First, the city will make lighting plans for 10 districts. To prepare for the G20 Summit meetings, Hangzhou upgraded its lighting in core urban areas and scenic areas. Besides some light shows, visitors to the city were also impressed by the lighting views at West Lake, Qiantang Rive and the Grand Canal. The new program will include plans to beautify night views in Binjiang, Xiaoshan, Yuhang, Fuyang and Lin’an. A city with more systematic lighting views, as they call it.


Second, Qiantang River will probably become the night view axis of the city. The night at West Lake will still be a must-see. However, Qiantang River is the new urban axis, which makes it necessary to upgrade the lighting in this area. People-friendly designs will feature the new revised program. The slow-transportation system will put more emphasis on light designs for pedestrians and cyclists. The overall feeling will be soft, safe, comfy, cozy, and sports-friendly.
